One of them is increasing the target for the Covid-19 vaccination rate by adding several independent vaccination booths launched by the East Java Police Chief, as well as optimizing the mobile vaccination program in the city of Surabaya.
The Surabaya Police Chief, Kombes Pol A. Yusep Gunawan, S.H., S.I.K., M.H., said that in the near future it is targeting as many as 218,000 doses of vaccine to be distributed to the public by the end of August 2021.
"The target in August Surabaya is to achieve the highest presentation to achieve herd immunity. In the near future, the fulfillment of the second vaccination will be 218,000," said Yusep, Wednesday (11/8/2021).
According to him, the Surabaya Polrestabes itself will add seven outlet points with a target of around 1600-3000 doses per day at each vaccine outlet. In addition, the Police will also facilitate people who cannot leave their jobs, especially for those who work in the informal sector such as warkop guards, street vendors, market traders and others.
This will be reached by a mobile vaccine car. In fact, the car will reach places that have not been touched by the vaccination program in Surabaya.
Furthermore, Pol Kombes A. Yusep Gunawan said that the mobile vaccine car would be prepared for up to 20 units with sufficient medical personnel, thanks to the support from the Surabaya City government. And each unit will be provided with 200-300 doses of vaccine that can be obtained by the public for free.
"While there are still around ten, God willing, for mobile vaccine car units it can be up to twenty so that more people can be vaccinated quickly," he said.
In addition to informal sector workers, the mobile vaccine car will also support requests from the community. One of them was a request from the bonek community, a supporter of the Persebaya Surabaya team.
"Community vaccinations, we will encourage requests from bonek through mobile car vaccinations according to the number of needs. Pursuing the general target of 90 thousand throughout East Java, Surabaya 1500 to 3000 per day per outlet. If 7 outlets have 21 thousand plus mobile vaccine cars," he explained.
Finally, Kombes Pol A. Yusep Gunawan said, Acceleration of vaccination is one of the keys besides complying with health protocols so that the community can form herd immunity as soon as possible and can carry out activities as usual with new normal standards.
"Let's prokes and let's get vaccinated. Currently, several service rooms that have been opened with various provisions of the Surabaya community must be obeyed," he said.
