The Probolinggo Police Chief, AKBP Teuku Arsya Gaddafi, and the Probolinggo Police Sector Head along with Bhabinkamtibmas in their area along with representatives from Community Leaders, were present to carry out the implementation of the Bhayangkara Social Service for the Country, this is part of the handling of Emergency PPKM which is currently being implemented.
On this occasion, the Probolinggo Police Chief symbolically released the assistance distributed by Bhabinkamtibmas in each village within the jurisdiction of the Probolinggo Police. Assistance in the context of Bhayangkara Social Service for this country is 10 tons of rice, and 2000 food packages, and given to people in need, or who are experiencing the direct impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We know the conditions on the ground, so we give rice to people affected by Covid-19 in Probolinggo Regency," said the Probolinggo Police Chief, AKBP Teuku Arsya Gaddafi.
According to him, the assistance was given to ease the burden on the community during the pandemic.
It is known, the implementation of the Emergency PPKM which is expected to reduce the spread of COVID-19 has limited community activities. The wheels of the community's economic movement were sluggish.
"Hopefully this assistance can relieve residents during Emergency PPKM," he said.
The recipients of the assistance included pedicab drivers, motorcycle taxis, and traders at the terminal and street cleaners as well as poor people.
"Today we gave 10 tons of rice to the community. It's time for our assistance to be carried out by complying with health protocols. This is to avoid the transmission of Covid-19," he added.
In addition, the Probolinggo Police Chief, AKBP Teuku Arsya Gaddafi, also thanked the community for supporting Emergency PPKM.
"Including the participation of religious leaders, community leaders, and mass organizations in educating the public to comply with the Emergency PPKM in order to break the chain of the spread of Covid-19," he concluded.
