Various assistance has been delivered since yesterday to ease the burden on the community. Among them are public kitchen cars, boats to rubber boats.
"The ranks of the NTT Regional Police have dispatched six ships and five rubber boats. While in the NTT Regional Police there are 10 ships and eight rubber boats," said Head of Public Relations of the Indonesian Police, Inspector General Pol Argo Yuwono in a written statement, Monday (5/4/2021).
Several Brimob Polda units, namely Polda East Java, Central Java, DIY, Bali and NTB, are also ready to send SAR vehicles which contain a car that can be used as a field kitchen.
"Ditpolair Baharkam Headquarters has also alerted a Bharata Ship in Labuhan Bajo and a Casa standby aircraft in Kupang," explained Argo.
According to him, other assistance was also provided such as 100 blankets, 100 sarongs, 100 mattresses, 100 towels, 200 boxes of milk, 200 boxes of delicious noodles, 30 boxes of coffee and dozens of boxes of toiletries that were ready to be distributed.
Argo ensured that apart from this assistance, the National Police would return to distribute other assistance. "We have coordinated with the Kapolda to immediately send aid to NTT," he said.
As is known, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that the number of victims who died due to flash floods in NTT reached 68 people in a number of districts. While 70 other people are missing.
A total of 938 households (KK) or 2,655 people were affected. This disaster was triggered by extreme weather which caused high intensity rain, resulting in flash floods on last Sunday (4/4).
