East Java Regional Police Unloads Circulation of Regulators without SNI

SURABAYA, - Unit IV Sub-Directorate I (Indagsi) of the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the East Java Regional Police, dismantled the circulation of low pressure regulators that did not comply with SNI, which were trafficked to the public.

 From this disclosure, the East Java Regional Police have named one suspect, namely the leader of PT. Cipta Orion Metal, as a producer that has traded the regulator for the Starcam brand that does not comply with SNI.

 This disclosure was made after investigators saw from one of the media that there was news about the destruction of the LPG regulator. From there, the members finally carried out an investigation.

 From the investigation carried out, the members visited one of the warehouses in the Margomulyo Indah area and the Mutiara warehouse block B-30, Surabaya.

 "In addition, a check is also carried out at one of the distributors in the East Java region," explained the Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Gatot Repli Handoko, Monday (5/4/2021).

 From the results of examinations carried out at B4T (Center for Materials and Technical Products) and at BBLM (Center for Metal and Machinery). That the regulator traded to the public does not fulfill the elements of low pressure regulator products.

 "This regulator equipment is very dangerous if used by consumers or the public," he added.

 This regulator was confiscated from 5 (five) distributors and one producer, from five distributors of PT. Jaya Gembira, PT. Paracom, CV. Satellite, CV. Utama and CV. Adma Totalindo.

 Meanwhile, from the results of the investigation, the East Java Regional Police secured 34,913 thousand regulators.

 Meanwhile Wadirsus Polda Jatim AKBP zulham Efendi explained, if this regulator is used by people indoors, it will endanger consumers. Because of the test results, that there are sounds and vibrations. And if there is a spark it can cause a fire.

 "Prices are not much different from those in the field, but in terms of safety, they are much different from those with SNI," concluded AKBP Zulham Efendi, Wadirsus Polda East Java.

 Article 113 of Law Number 7 of 2014 concerning Trade and Article 66 of Law Number 20 of 2014 concerning Standardization and Conformity Assessment, with the threat of a 5 year prison sentence.
