Visited by the Minister of Youth and Sports, the National Police Chief Discussed Sports Activities Can Be Held During a Pandemic

BromoToday.com - JAKARTA - The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali visited the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta.  During the meeting, the Menpora and Kopolri discussed how sports and youth activities could still be held amid the current Covid-19 pandemic.

"However, we still have to communicate and coordinate these activities with the National Police Headquarters. Because now we realize that our situation is still in the position of dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic," said Zainudin Amali at National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday (8/2).

Zainudin said he asked the Chief of Police for advice and input because the National Police during the Covid-19 pandemic was an institution that was at the forefront of facing, reducing and breaking the chain of Covid-19 transmission.

"So I convey to the Chief of Police to find the best way out. The disciplined and strict application of health programs and community activities, especially in the field of youth and sports, can still run," said Zainudin.

Meanwhile, the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, added that the National Police was always involved in the efforts taken by the government in order to reduce Covid-19, starting from the implementation of PSBB, PPKM to PPKM Micro having an obligation to discipline the public towards health protocols.

"We, from the police, open up space for further discussion related to matters that need to be prepared, both in administrative nature, prioritizing enforcement of regulations related to health protocols, but also activities related to youth and sports can be carried out," said National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit.

In this case, of course, said Sigit, agreements are needed.  If in sports or youth activities that are carried out they violate the provisions of the health protocol, it will have an impact on the implementation of the event, aka being given sanctions.  This is important, so that the government's focus on reducing Covid-19 and carrying out economic recovery can be successful.

"This is what we will certainly discuss in detail and intensively. So, of course, in the future we will carry out and will be further informed about the rules of the game," said Sigit.
