East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Military Commander V Brawijaya Maj. Gen. Suharyanto, East Java Police Chief Inspector General Pol Nico, East Java District Head, along with East Java Police Chief Officer and Brawijaya Military Military Command V Main Officer, and Greater Malang Forkopimda accompanied the visit of Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin in Malang.
The first place to visit was the Malang Regency Human Resources Development Center (BPSDM). The activity was carried out to check the Central Isolation (Isoter) of covid patients, aiming to support the Government's program in handling COVID-19.
In the Isoter room of the BPSDM Malang City, there are 95 Isolation Beds, as of August 13, 2021, 84 patients have been filled, so currently there are 11 beds left.
During his visit, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs said to always be open in handling COVID-19, even though the number is high, it will definitely recover and experience a decline.
"So don't worry about the number, just let it be high. Later when we treat it, it will definitely go down," said Luhut accompanied by the East Java Forkopimda and the Greater Malang Forkopimda.
Luhut further explained that we should not be ashamed about this, because this is not a disgrace. This disease can be overcome if we continue to adhere to health protocols.
"So this isoter is very important, as soon as you are tested or traced, then you get caught. Just go to Isoter, there is a doctor here, there is food, there is medicine, checks, everything is there and it doesn't spread to our family," he said while conducting checking at BPSDM Malang.
Luhut also said. If we are not careful, this Delta variant is very dangerous, it can attack our breathing. We don't know that our oxygen saturation will be near 80. If that happens, it will be difficult to help, so the death rate is high.
"If you don't have the medicine at home, you don't have a doctor, you don't have health workers, you don't have oxygen saturation care, you don't have oxygen yourself if you need it. Everything is here," said Coordinating Minister Marves.
"So I leave it to the ladies and gentlemen of the media and also the local government, I don't need to hide the numbers. Let's just leave it open. That's a problem we are all busy, how come there is nothing wrong. What is wrong if we cover it up. If we open it, if we pull it according to the protocol, it will definitely come down," he added.
The Minister of Health advised that in this case the public should not be afraid to be swabbed, because if someone is infected, it is possible that the closest family may be exposed, it can be swabbed.
"Because if we swab, and we know the results, it can protect our family. What's dangerous is if we don't want to be swabbed, we don't know. In fact, if we do swab, we can know the results are okay, this disease can be cured quickly," said Budi Gunadi Sadikin.
