The activity, which was attended by Katua Bhayangkari of the Surabaya City Branch, Astrid Isir together with the East Java Police Chief of Police, AKBP Yayuk Sri Wahyuningtias and Senior Polwan Polrestabes Surabaya, AKBP Sri Andriyani distributed assistance as many as 450 basic food packages to communities affected by the PPKM policy in the East Java Region.
AKBP Yayuk Sri Wahyuningtias as Pakor Polwan Polda East Java, said the distribution of the basic food packages, aims to help slightly ease the burden on the people of East Java, especially Surabaya residents in the midst of the implementation of restrictions on community activities due to the current Covid-19 pandemic.
"Hopefully, with this basic food assistance, it can help a little the burden on the community in difficult times like this and hopefully this Covid-19 outbreak will end soon and life will return to normal," he said, Wednesday (04/08/2021).
Finally, he said that the distribution of the food packages was given to street vendors (PKL) and pedicab drivers in front of JMP Surabaya.
"We from the Bhyangkari and Polwan Polwan Units of the East Java Police along with the ranks express our gratitude to the General Chairperson of Bhayangkari as well as the Foster Mrs. Policewomen of the Police who have provided assistance to communities affected by PPKM in the City of Surabaya," concluded AKBP Yayuk.
Meanwhile, Surabaya Deputy Chief of Police, AKBP Hartoyo, said that if the social service activities to distribute rice would continue to be carried out by the police on a regular basis.
In addition to assistance, his party also provides advice regarding PPKM level 4 rules and the community continues to apply health protocols when doing activities.
"Giving a little of what we can. What the government is doing as an effort to save the people from exposure to the Covid-19 virus. Of course, in this activity for rice, we give an appeal to continue to follow the health procedures. Obey PPKM until there is a new policy issued by the center," he briefly said.
