The National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo instructed all his staff to immediately accelerate the distribution of Emergency PPKM social assistance (bansos) to the community, whose economy was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
This was responded quickly by the ranks of the East Java Regional Police, to carry out social services by providing assistance in the form of rice to people who were more in need.
The distribution of basic food assistance in the form of rice was carried out in a humanistic manner throughout East Java Polres ranks, and specifically to residents who were more in need, as long as the emergency PPKM was enforced as ordered by the National Police Chief.
Bhabinkamtibmas and Babinsa personnel provide assistance to the community while providing educational messages about health protocols with 5M that must always be carried out by the community, as well as understanding about the implementation of Emergency PPKM, because of what the government is doing for the safety of the wider community.
It is hoped that this assistance in the form of rice can be useful, especially for people who are directly affected by the implementation of emergency PPKM.
This was conveyed by Mrs. Latifa, one of the residents selling flowers in the Bungurasih area, the recipient of the assistance. He thanked the TNI-Polri and the government for the assistance given, because the rice could be used for one week.
"Thank God, thank you, Mr. Police, Mr. TNI, and the government of East Java, this assistance can help us, we can use this rice to eat for up to a week," said the flower seller's mother.
This assistance will continue to be carried out as long as the emergency PPKM is implemented by the government, to help ease the burden on the community, especially those who need it more.
