Tighten the entrance for our common good

The implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in the Java - Bali region has also been implemented in Banyuwangi. The tightening of access to Banyuwangi, the temporary closure of malls and tourist destinations, and a number of other policies were carried out to minimize the potential for the spread of Covid-19, especially in the eastern tip of Java Island.
On the first day of the Emergency PPKM last Saturday (3/9), Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani made a surprise inspection to a number of points. In addition to Ipuk, the inspection was also attended by the Banyuwangi Regional Leadership Forum (Forpimda), including Banyuwangi Police Chief AKBP Nasrun Pasaribu, 0825 Banyuwangi Dandim Lieutenant Colonel (Inf) Yuli Eko Purwanto, Banyuwangi Danlanal Lieutenant Colonel (F) Eros Wasis. In addition, DPRD member Marifatul Kamila also participated in the inspection on Saturday night.
The first target of this inspection is the Ketapang River, Lake and Ferry Transport Port (ASDP). This port was chosen as the inspection destination because it is the entrance to the island of Java from Bali.
Every passenger from public or private vehicles passing through, is checked for completeness of the requirements for a Covid-19 free card in the form of rapid antigen test results and vaccine cards.
Kapolresta Nasrun said the tightening at the Port of Ketapang and throughout Banyuwangi was carried out for the good of all of us. "We don't want this Emergency PPKM in Java, it won't work," he said.
During the inspection, it was found that a number of passengers bound for Java were not equipped with Rapidtest Antigen documents. "From the findings in the field, it turns out that in Bali there was no inspection so that many who did not bring a test letter could pass," said the Chief of Police.
Meanwhile, finding these findings Danlanal Banyuwangi Lt. Col. Eros Wasis promised to carry out regular inspections during the implementation of Emergency PPKM at Ketapang Port. "We will prepare troops to conduct random checks. In addition, we also prepare vaccinations for Banyuwangi residents who pass by," he said.
Meanwhile, Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani emphasized that his party will continue to carry out socialization and tight control over the implementation of Emergency PPKM in The Sunrise of Java district. “The tightening of the Emergency PPKM has not been well socialized. It takes more hard work to socialize and control it,” he said.
Ipuk also asked Banyuwangi residents to comply with Emergency PPKM. "This is valid until July 20 only. Please cooperate with all of them to comply with all the appeals and provisions of this Emergency PPKM as an effort to suppress the spread of Covid-19 cases in Banyuwangi," he asked.
In addition to Ketapang Harbor, inspections were also carried out at food stalls and cafes that were crowded with visitors. On that occasion, Ipuk appealed to food stalls to only serve take away orders. "It's not that you can't sell, but you can't eat it on the spot. Wrapped, then brought home, “said Ipuk at one of the culinary centers of Plengsengan.
On that occasion, Dandim 0825 Lieutenant Colonel Yuli Eko also reminded visitors and sellers to comply with PPKM rules that have been set by the government. “Let's go home soon, don't hang out until late. The Covid 19 Task Force strongly appeals to all residents to limit activities outside the home until 21.00," he concluded.
