Restrictions on Community Activities Make People Uncomfortable, Kapori: This Is To Maintain People's Safety

JAKARTA - The National Police Chief General of Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo revealed that the government's restrictions on community activities through the policy of implementing an emergency Community Activity Limitation (PPKM) made it uncomfortable.

However, he said this effort must be made to reduce the surge in cases of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country. As is known, government data shows that there were 27,913 new cases of Covid-19 added on Saturday (3/7/2021).

With this addition, the number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia currently reaches 2,256,851 people, as of the announcement on March 2, 2020.

"With the increasing number of Covid-19 cases, we are restricting the movement of people. It is not comfortable but this is all to maintain the safety of the people as the highest law. Therefore, people must stay at home," said Sigit while reviewing the PPKM post in Jati Cempaka Village, Pondok Gede, Bekasi with TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, Sunday (4/7/2021).

According to Sigit, the tightening of emergency PPKM must be accompanied by vaccinations for herd immunity. Therefore, the former Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police asked four Pillats to invite the public to come to the vaccine site.

"Socialise to the public so that they want to come to the vaccine booth," said the four-star general.

In addition to Bekasi, the TNI Commander and the National Police Chief also reviewed mass vaccinations at JIEXPO North Jakarta and Pondok Pesantren Al-Hamidi Cilangkap, East Jakarta.
