Gili Ketapang Island is a small island in Probolinggo Regency with an area of 0.61 Km2 with a population of 9,500 people, where Gili Island is 3 miles from the pier of Tanjung Tembaga Harbor, Probolinggo City.
The Head of Police said that the distribution of social assistance in the form of 2 Tons of Rice was expected to help the economy of the Gili Island community amid the implementation of Level IV PPKM.
"The Covid pandemic and the implementation of PPKM Level IV have greatly impacted the community's economy, therefore we are here to slightly ease the economic burden by providing social assistance," explained the Alumni of the 2002 Police Academy.
In addition to providing social assistance in the form of food packages, the Probolinggo City Police Chief also took the time to talk with the surrounding community, distribute masks and invite residents to comply with health protocols and participate in vaccines.
"We hope that this assistance will be useful and don't forget to keep trying and praying so that the pandemic ends soon and life returns to normal," concluded AKBP Jauhari.
Supariyono as the Village Head of Gili Ketapang expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by the Probolinggo City Police Chief and his staff to the residents.
"Thank you for the concern of the Chief of Police, this assistance is very meaningful to meet the daily needs of our citizens, and hopefully this synergy will be maintained," he concluded.
