Pangdam V Brawijaya Major General TNI Suharyanto said that later the TNI Commander and the National Police Chief would provide direction to all Forkopimda Bangkalan district, including community leaders, religious leaders, related to handling the Covid-19 pandemic, especially in Bangkalan district which has experienced an increase in recent days.
At the beginning of last week, there was a spike in positive active cases, which hit Bangkalan Regency in particular, there were several villages, namely Arosbaya Village, Klampis, which experienced a spike.
"There are several hundred positive ones, but the numbers keep moving. Then, isolation was carried out, both from the Madura side and from the Surabaya side," said Pangdam V Brawijaya at the Bangkalan Regency hall, Wednesday (9/6/2021).
"It's been three or four days that the isolation has been carried out. There has been a significant decrease. Four days ago, if there were a hundred residents who were examined, it would have been positive when they were tested for antigen, but yesterday or today the presentation has decreased. The exact number, because it is always moving, will be officially announced by the Bangkalan Regent," he explained.
In addition, Major General TNI Suharyanto also said that the number of deaths in Bangkalan district has also decreased.
"So it's not true that there are dozens, even hundreds who died and were buried without following the Covid-19 protocol, it's not like that. Later the data will also be officially submitted by the Bangkalan Regent, but I'm sure that the numbers have started to decline," said Pangdam V Brawijaya. .
These are the handling steps taken by the Bangkalan Regency government, assisted by the Bangkalan Forkopimda, the Head of the Resort Police, the Dandim, and assisted by the East Java Provincial Government, the Governor, the Brawijaya Military Command V, and the East Java Regional Police.
"Hopefully these steps will continue to be implemented, so that the visit of the Commander of the TNI and the Chief of Police tomorrow will ensure that the steps for handling COVID-19 in East Java, especially in Bangkalan Regency, are in accordance with the established procedures," he said.
The Commander hopes that the community can all support and help pray that the Covid-19 problem in East Java, especially in Bangkalan Regency, which has recently soared, can be overcome immediately.
The new variant has indeed entered all regions of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, including in East Java.
"There are several cases of variants from England, variants from South Africa, which were found from Indonesian migrant worker PMIs who returned from East Java, but even that can be detected and treatment has been carried out in hospital or hospital treatment, dr. Soetomo Surabaya. This means that no one has been able to confirm that the spike in cases in Bangkalan is due to the new variant. It's not like that," he concluded, Commander of the V Brawijaya Regional Military Command Major General Suharyanto.
The East Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Nico Afinta added that what had been done by Kodam V Brawijaya together with the Regional Police and the East Java Provincial Government, along with all their staff in Bangkalan Regency, was the application of 3T testing, tracing and treatment.
Then related to the problem of testing and tracing carried out in Suramadu, it became part of the 3T strategy. For the past few days the testing and tracing carried out at the partition has had an impact, related to community compliance with 5M, so that the spike that used to be at the beginning has now decreased.
"Both people who cross, or people who carry out activities around Bangkalan, especially Arosbaya and Klampis. We ask the community, let's obey the 5M, and we also follow the 3T activities that have been carried out," explained the East Java Police Chief.
"Let's do this together, hopefully in the future it can get better," concluded the East Java Police Chief during a review in Bangkalan district with Pangdam V Brawijaya.
