As of Sunday (6/6/2021), there were 25 new positive cases of Covid-19 patients in Bangkalan, Madura. Then 2 Covid-19 patients died, and 17 people were declared corona suspects in Bangkalan, Madura.
Based on accumulative data as of June 6, 2021, the number of confirmed positive Covid-19 in Bangkalan, Madura is 1,779 people. Then, the number of patients recovered was 1,520, Covid-19 patients died 180 people, and active Covid-19 cases in Bangkalan, Madura are now 79 people.
Seeing the significant increase in Covid-19 cases, Bangkalan kiai and clerics moved quickly and proactively gave appeals to residents so that the spread of Covid-19 could be suppressed.
The kiai and clerics at every opportunity give an appeal for the people of Bangkalan district to be consistent in implementing the 3M health protocol both in mosques, surau and langgar in Bangkalan and even chain messages on social media.
This is in line with the expectations expressed by a member of Commission A of the DPRD of East Java Province, Mr. Freddy Poernomo, who asked the regional leadership forum to sit together and involve scholars to suppress the spread of Covid-19 so that it does not spread to other areas.

The Golkar Party politician also emphasized that the East Java Provincial Government, Surabaya City Government and Bangkalan Regency Government must try to suppress the spread of Covid-19 in a way that is in accordance with the culture of their respective communities.
"In Surabaya, God willing, it will be strict. The culture of the people of Surabaya is different from that of Madura. In Madura, it must involve informal figures or kiai," he explained.

Abdul Halim hopes that people in Madura will remain calm and not panic, and continue to apply health protocols (prokes) to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.
"People remain calm and don't panic, but don't be careless and underestimate this outbreak," he said.
The Gerindra Party politician hopes that the efforts of Madurese kiai and clerics together with all stakeholders involved in preventing the increasing spread of Covid-19 in Bangkalan will be a valuable endeavor so that the corona outbreak does not spread to other districts and cities in East Java.
"We appreciate the work of health workers and all related parties, both in Bangkalan Regency, East Java Province and other districts or cities to localize the Covid-19 outbreak, so it doesn't spread further," said Abdul Halim.
