AKBP Ferdy Irawan, the Head of the Probolinggo Police said, the Semeru 2021 Safety Operation will be carried out for two weeks, starting April 12-25, 2021. The Semeru Safety Operation is a humanitarian operation and creates conditions ahead of the implementation of Operation Ketupat Hari Raya Idul Fitri.
The Police Chief explained that there were at least four objectives for holding the Semeru Safety Operation, namely first to improve public compliance and discipline regarding health protocols. Second, minimize accidents ahead of the month of Ramadan.
"As well as reducing fatality. And finally, so that people obey the government's appeal not to go home during Eid on May 6-17, "said AKBP Ferdy.
For the implementation of the Semeru Safety Operation in Probolinggo Regency, the operation is carried out prioritizing prevention and is carried out at all levels of the police in the jurisdiction of the Probolinggo Police.
