What we know is that after almost a year of the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) on August 17, 1945, "only" then on July 1, 1946, was the day when the Indonesian Police were united throughout Indonesia (fragmented system) to become the National Police by Prime Minister, hereinafter designated as HARI BHAYANGKARA.
However, because many people interpret Bhayangkara Day as the Birthday of the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia (POLRI), an intriguing question arises, does the NKRI not have POLRI in the nearly one year deadline. Even though the Police have existed since Independence on August 17, 1945.
At first glance it turns out that this is the history, 3 (three) days after the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 1945, on August 21, 1945, the late Mr. Police Inspector Moechammad Jasin courageously changed the name Tokubetsu Keisatsu Tai (Japanese Police) to the Special Police and submitted to the State Government The Unitary Republic of Indonesia which had just been independent for a few days.
Then the Special Police proved it
Loyalty and devotion to the State and Nation of Indonesia. Where as the first step the Special Police took was to carry out cleaning and disarmament against the Japanese Soldiers who lost the war.
At this point, it is fitting for us
not forgetting the history of the nation's struggle, especially the history of the struggle and the dharma bhakti of the police in taking part in seizing and defending Independence, as well as having to understand the events that occurred before and after August 1945, which include;
-On December 7, 1941, it happened
The bombing of Pearl Harbor was in the form of a surprise attack by the Japanese navy on the US Pacific Navy fleet that was anchored at Pearl Harbor Naval Base in the City of Honolulu, Oahu-Hawai Island.
- Then On January 10, 1942, Japan entered Indonesia, where Japan landed with a military invasion force for the first time in Tarakan, North Kalimantan. Therefore
The Dutch were finally rendered powerless to defend Indonesia and surrendered on March 7, 1942. Since March 9, 1942, Indonesia was officially colonized by Japan.
In 1944 the Japanese recruited indigenous youths including Moechammad Jasin, they were trained as special police with combat abilities like the Japanese soldiers who were named Tokubetsu Keisatsutai or Special Police.
- On August 6, 1945, the city of Hiroshima was subjected to an atomic bomb and on August 9, 1945, Nagasaki City also received an atomic bomb by the United States. The two cities were completely destroyed and Japanese military installations were paralyzed leading to the end of the Second World War.
Then Soekarno-Hatta proclaimed Indonesia's independence on August 17, 1945.
For all members of the National Police, it should be noted and never forget the historical events after the Proclamation of 17 August 1945 where:
-On August 19, 1945, the National Police Agency (BKN) was formed by the Preparatory Committee for Indonesian Independence (PPKI).
- * On August 21, 1945, Police Inspector Class-1 or Police First Lieutenant Moechammad Jasin with the position of Police Commander in Surabaya, proclaimed that the Special Police Force became the Police
Republic of Indonesia,
and declared to unite with the Indonesian people in the struggle to defend the proclamation of 17 August 1945. Furthermore, as an initial step to take was to carry out cleaning and disarmament of the Japanese soldiers who lost the war.
At this time, many senior police hope that * August 21 can be inaugurated as "Bhakti Polri Day"
On September 29, 1945,
President Soekarno appointed Soekanto Tjokrodiatmodjo Hospital to become the First Indonesian Police Chief (KKN). And placing the Police position under the Prime Minister.
It would be no exaggeration if the Police General of Sukanto Hospital could be inaugurated as the "Father of the Police Pioneers".
Furthermore, the same is the case with the Police General Hoegeng Imam Santoso * who also needs to be designated as "Father of Honest Police".
Then Mr. General of Police Prof. Dr. Awaludin Djamin MPA needs to be appointed as "Father of Repairing the Police".
That is a glimpse of a forgotten reminder related to the commencement of the existence and service of the POLRI by a member of the National Hero Police, Komjen Pol Dr H Moechammad Jasin.
Bravo POLRI in implementing the Tata Tentrem Kerta Raharja doctrine to create conducive security in order to increase the productivity of society for the realization of an advanced, just and prosperous society.
