Accompanied by the Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Gatot Repli Handoko, the Director of Intelligence and Security of the East Java Regional Police, and the Head of the Gresik Police, AKBP Arif Fitrianto, the team conducted a gathering at the Ushulul Hikmah AL Ibrohimi Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes), Manyar, Gresik Regency.
"Our arrival at the Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) Ushulul Hikmah AL Ibrohimi, this is in the context of gathering with Ponpes caregivers and students so that good communication is established," said Kombes Pol. Ahmad Ramadhan, Tuesday (9/3/21).
The Indonesian National Police's Public Relations Division also briefed the students at the Ponpes regarding the dangers of terrorism and radicalism that could threaten the harmony and existence of the Indonesian state or nation.
"Please if you want to carry out Jihad Sabilillah for the benefit of the community in the right way or way according to religious teachings, but don't be exposed to radicalism," said Kombes Ahmad.
Kombes Ahmad also hopes that the caregivers of Pondok Pesantren (Ponpes) and Santri will help the government in its efforts to provide protection and welfare for the community.
"The government and the National Police cannot work alone without the help and participation of the community," said Kombes Ahmad.
The assistance referred to, continued Kombes Ahmad, can be in the form of helping to provide information to the Police about the potential for radicalism in their respective areas.
Meanwhile, the Islamic boarding school (pesantren) caregiver Ushulul Hikmah AL Ibrohimi, Manyar, Gresik Regency. KH. Zainur Rosyid Chusnan said that the call for countering terrorism and radicalism by the Public Relations Division of the Police Headquarters was good enough and needed to be followed up.
"The arrival of the team from the Public Relations Division of the Police Headquarters is very good. This visit is to provide an understanding of radicalism and terrorism to the students," said KH. Zainur Rosyid Chusnan.
Ponpes caregiver Ushulul Hikmah AL Ibrohimi added that if the students were nurtured well, of course radicalism would not be able to enter the Ponpes.
According to KH. Zainur Rosyid Chusnan, if the santri at the boarding school are exposed to radicalism, then it is influenced by two things, one in having faiths and wrong in doing theology.
"Our message is, find the right teacher who loves religion and loves the country, so that this country can be safe, peaceful and prosperous," KH Zainur Rosyid Chusnan concluded.
