After the suicide bombing, the National Police secured five active bombs and arrested 13 suspected terrorists in Jakarta-Makassar-NTB

JAKARTA—- The National Police, through the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 team, moved quickly after the suicide bombing in front of the Cathedral Church, Makassar, South Sulawesi, Sunday (28/3).

 The National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, said that his officers had arrested several suspected terrorists. In Makassar, Densus arrested four people, namely the US, SAS, MR and AA.

 "They played a role with L and YSM (both suicide bombers), namely together in a study group Villa Mutiara," said the Chief of Police in a written statement, Monday (29/3/2021).

 The four suspected terrorists who were arrested in Makassar played a role in providing doctrine and preparing jihad plans as well as buying explosives to prepare suicide bombs.

 At the same time, continued Listyo Sigit, the Densus team also carried out searches and arrests in two areas, namely Condet, East Jakarta and Bekasi, West Java. Four suspected terrorists were arrested, namely A, AH, AJ and BS along with evidence of bombs and other explosives.

 "The police found five active bombs. Axle bomb type,
 5 Large jars filled with explosive chemicals, sulfur, flashfolder and thermometer. These materials will be processed into 4 Kg of explosives, then another 1.5 Kg of explosives will be found, ”explained the National Police Chief.

 Then the results of the arrest operation in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Densus 88 secured five suspected terrorists from the Jamaah Ansharut Daullah (JAD) group.

 "A total of five perpetrators have been secured, and continue to be developed, in the near future they can be secured," said Listyo Sigit.

 For this reason, the National Police Chief asked the people in Jakarta, Makassar and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to carry out their usual activities and remain calm and not panic. He ensured that his ranks continued to pursue terrorist groups and thoroughly investigate the suicide bombing.

 "I urge the public to remain calm, not to panic, related to the terrorist problem, it is our job to investigate it thoroughly," closed the National Police Chief.
