BromoToday.com - JAKARTA - The Muhammadiyah Central Executive (PP) received a visit from the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and his staff. In this warm and intimate meeting, PP Muhammadiyah stated that it fully supports the policy of National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, namely religious moderation.
"Muhammadiyah supports the National Police Chief's programs, especially those related to religious moderation. So the National Police Chief explained that moderation is a program he will develop," said PP Muhammadiyah Secretary General Abdul Mu'ti at the PP Muhammadiyah office, Central Jakarta, Friday (29 / 1).
Apart from that, PP Muhammadiyah gave full support to the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who was committed to taking a humanist and populist approach in handling and overcoming problems.
"We even proposed a new tagline for the National Police Chief, namely the Police who are friends of the ummah," Mu'ti emphasized.
Meanwhile, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that religious moderation is one of the formulas to suppress radical ideas and intolerance by means of a soft approach.
"The understanding of religious moderation is certainly much more beneficial than us taking hard (hard) approaches," added Listyo Sigit.
It is important to strengthen religious moderation in Indonesia at this time based on the fact that Indonesia is a very diverse nation with various ethnicities, languages, cultures and religions. Indonesia is also a religious country even though it is not a country based on a particular religion.
