Kapolda Encourages Community to Create Herd Immunity in East Java

The East Java Forkopimda, in this case the East Java Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta, together with the East Java Police Chief Official, Thursday afternoon (5/8/2021) checked the Merdeka vaccination booth, which was prepared by the East Java Police, at Bungkul Park, Surabaya.

 "Today we, the East Java Regional Police and Forkopimda, continue to carry out vaccination programs throughout the East Java region. Yesterday we carried out vaccinations on the coast and then to universities and now we carry out vaccination checks at Bungkul Park," said the East Java Police Chief accompanied by the East Java Police Chief Official.

 The vaccination at Bungkul Park was carried out starting on June 28, 2021 and to this day is still ongoing, and during that period 7,538 people have been vaccinated. On average, everyone is now stepping into the second vaccine.

 The implementation of the Merdeka vaccination in Bungkul Park with an achievement target of 300 people with vaccination officers consisting of 12 health workers from the East Java Regional Police Biddokkes.

 Meanwhile, the people who took part in this vaccination, on average, had already vaccinated the first stage at the Surabaya Police Station and the 10 November Stadium, Tambak Sari Surabaya.

 East Java Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta continues to encourage the community to immediately realize herd immunity in East Java. The Kapolda also invites the public to continue to carry out the 5M protocol even though they have been vaccinated, namely by always wearing a mask, washing hands, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds and reducing mobility.

 "This is a basic principle in living during the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccines are only one of the efforts for prevention and more importantly, continue to implement the 5M," he explained.

 Not to forget the East Java Police Chief thanked all the teams who had worked, and to the people who wanted to come and vaccinate here.

 "Our hope is that we will continue to carry out vaccinations in Bungkul Park until the vaccination program is complete," he said.

 This is encouraging, because seeing the very high enthusiasm of the community, it is hoped that herd immunity can soon be realized in East Java.

 "We checked some of the participants who came, they had also informed their families. Earlier I saw a husband and wife and then their relatives also came here," he added.

 "Then in the future we will continue to carry out vaccinations, where later on in government programs, especially East Java, there will also be additional vaccines, which we will carry out simultaneously," concluded the East Java Police Chief after checking the Merdeka vaccination booth at Bungkul Park, Surabaya.
