The East Java Regional Police Chief together with the East Java Regional Police Chief Officer, carried out a vaccination check that took place on the ship and at the Pier. This was done by the Directorate of Air and Air Police (Polairud) of the East Java Regional Police, in accelerating vaccination for fishing and coastal communities at the Kroman Gresik jetty, on Tuesday (3/8/2021).

"Today, we together with the Dit Polairud Polda Jatim together with the Gresik Police, supported by the Health Biddokkes and their staff, carried out the Merdeka vaccination, targeting fishermen and coastal communities, with a total of 900 people," explained East Java Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta at Gresik Police Satpolairud.

The East Java Regional Police Chief also said that he had opened registration for people who had not carried out vaccinations to come in the context of this independence day.

"This activity will be carried out continuously until August 17, for people who have not carried out the vaccine, please register with the nearest Police Unit, either at Polair, at the Gresik Police, Polsek or Babinsa, and Babinkamtibmas," said the East Java Police Chief accompanied by Dir Polairud, Head of Public Relations, Karoops, and Karumkit Bhayangkara level II, and the Gresik Police Chief.

During his visit, the Kapolda also distributed social assistance packages to fishermen and coastal residents and took the time to greet residents who were waiting in line, and reminded them to continue to apply health protocols, even though vaccinations had been carried out.

"Let's all carry out the vaccine, this is part of preventing the spread of covid. Apart from that, let's continue to implement the health protocol by always maintaining the 5M protocol. Wear masks, wash hands, keep distance, stay away from crowds and reduce activities," said the Kapolda.

Not forgetting that the Kapolda also asked for support from all parties, to jointly make this vaccination activity run smoothly.

"I would like to thank the people who have come. Thank you also to all staff who continue to work well," he said.

In addition, the East Java Regional Police Chief also said, before reviewing the implementation of vaccinations at the dock, they had checked the vaccinations on fishing boats.

"Earlier, we saw that most of the fishermen who were also carrying out their work were happy because they could get vaccines by being visited directly by the health worker to the dock or to the ships that were docked. I think this is important for all of us to always synergize in implementing vaccination activities," he concluded.
