TNI Commander and National Police Chief Check Vaccinations and Emergency PPKM Activities in East Java

TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, together with the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, conducted a road show to a number of provinces, one of which was in East Java, to directly check activities related to Emergency PPKM, vaccination and isolation in East Java, on Friday (9/09). 7/2021).

During his visit to East Java. The TNI Commander and the National Police Chief, accompanied by the East Java Forkompimda, the East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, the Brawijaya Military Commander V Major General Suharyanto, and the East Java Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta, as well as the East Java Police Chief Officer, reviewed the vaccination process at Grand City Mall Surabaya, and the isolation post, as well as providing socialization of the implementation of the Health Protocol (Prokes) in Saworatap village, Gedangan sub-district, Sidoarjo district.

TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto thanked the thousands of people in Surabaya, who were willing to take part in today's vaccination, and advised them to continue to adhere to health protocols even though they had been vaccinated.

"I thank you very much for the implementation of the vaccination this morning, which was attended by approximately five thousand vaccine recipients and I would like to remind all the ladies and gentlemen who have been vaccinated to continue to comply with the health procedures by wearing masks, washing hands and keeping a distance. because it doesn't mean we are immune, but we are ready to deal with it if we are exposed to COVID-19," ordered the TNI Commander.

In addition, the Commander also conveyed that the stages of implementing the vaccination had two strategies, which were to be carried out regularly at the Puskesmas, then in the Orange areas, the Polres, which served the people of Surabaya every day.

"Then the second strategy is a vaccination campaign that is carried out collectively together as we carried out this morning in large numbers, with these two strategies we hope that the target of 300 thousand or 200 thousand per day can be achieved, so that our hopes are for East Java." especially in the Greater Surabaya area, in mid-August, herd immunity has been achieved according to our expectations," the TNI Commander hoped.

Also on this occasion, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo reminded the entire community that the government is currently taking major strategic steps, to prevent the growth rate of covid, which we currently know until yesterday reached 38 thousand.

This means that a very high positive number in the hospital is also a very high position, so there needs to be big steps, one of which is that we are currently all carrying out Emergency PPKM activities, where there are 3 things, the first is to regulate and limit mobility, the second is to strengthen activities in hospitals. Micro PPKM, and the third is vaccination activities related to mass vaccination activities.

"Of course, we and the Commander in Chief really appreciate the cohesiveness of the Governor, the Governor and his staff, the Pangdam and his staff, as well as the Kapolda and his staff, who are very solid and compact in carrying out joint vaccination activities, so earlier we received reports that there were several places that the absorption exceeds the target, so of course this is optimism that in order to form herd immunity in the East Java region this will be achieved," added the National Police Chief.

"Earlier, it was stated that the average is now at 165 thousand and the hope was to reach herd immunity soon, so the 300 thousand per day is the target, and I am sure that with the cohesiveness of the Forkopimda in East Java, the target can be met," said Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo during a vaccination review at the Grand City Mall Surabaya.

The National Police Chief also added that he would encourage the government, in this case the Minister of Health, to distribute as much as possible according to need, approximately 23 million people need to be injected, and currently there are approximately 7.9 million.

"Hopefully, if this can be maintained, it will be raised to 300 thousand, so at the end of August it can be a gift for the people of Surabaya, by achieving herd immunity in the East Java region," said the National Police Chief.

"Keep the spirit, don't forget to keep your distance, wear masks, because covid is still around us, so love your family, love your brothers, love our friends," concluded General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

After the vaccination visit in Grand City Surabaya, the TNI Commander and the National Police Chief together with the East Java Forkopimda continued to check at the Emergency Micro PPKM Command Post in Saworatap village, Gedangan sub-district, Sidoarjo regency.
