Agus hopes that the police institutions of the two countries can work together to discuss the prevention of transnational crime.
"There are various kinds of issues that are of common concern, such as drug trafficking and human trafficking," said Komjen Agus Andrianto in a written statement, Wednesday (28/7/2021).
Then, Agus continued, Indonesia, which is known to be an expert in dealing with illicit drug trafficking, especially the type of methamphetamine, could exchange methods of dealing with it with the Panamanian police, which mostly trade cocaine.
"So that these two different things can be exchanged knowledge," said Agus.
Previously, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia (Indonesian Ambassador) to Panama Sukmo Harsono made an official visit or courtesy visit to the Deputy Minister of Public Security of Panama HE Ivor Axel Pitti.
During the meeting, Sukmo discussed several things, ranging from the bilateral cooperation that has been carried out between Indonesia and Panama to exploring the potential for cooperation between the National Police and the Panamanian Police.
"We discussed efforts to further improve relations between the two countries, especially the Indonesian police institution and the Panamanian police," said Sukmo, Tuesday (26/7/2021).
