The National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo instructed all his staff to accelerate or accelerate the distribution of social assistance from the Government. According to him, this is to ease the burden on the community in the middle of the Level 4 PPKM period in Java-Bali.
"TNI-Polri together with other stakeholders to accelerate the distribution of social assistance to communities affected by Covid-19," said Sigit when holding Vicon with all ranks at the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Wednesday (21/7/2021).
The former Banten police chief also ensured that all ranks of the TNI-Polri, such as Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibas, had mapped their respective areas, so that the distribution of the social assistance was right on target. Not only in areas that apply PPKM Level 4, but also in PPKM Level 3 and PPKM Micro.
"As we have done so far, assistance from the Government distributed through the TNI-Polri will be ensured that it is right on target to the people in Indonesia. We have instructed our staff to do the mapping," said the former Police Criminal Investigation Officer.
Apart from the Government, Sigit said, the TNI-Polri will also provide social assistance to communities affected by the economy. Although it has been running since the beginning of the Pandemic and Emergency PPKM, in the future this will also be done when the implementation of the current Level 4 PPKM.
For the record, since the Emergency PPKM was first implemented on July 3 to July 19, 2021, at least the Police have distributed 475,420 packages and 2,471,217 Kilograms of rice have been distributed to the public.
Then, in 2020, social assistance distributed by the National Police amounted to 394,347 food packages, 30,000 tons of rice, 790,436 medical equipment/PPE, and established 13,119 public kitchens. Meanwhile, as of July 2, 2021, the social assistance provided by the National Police was 750,780 food packages, 3,753 tons of rice, 763,079 medical equipment/PPE, and the establishment of 143,467 public kitchens.
"Keep moving to make sure the community gets social assistance in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic. The Regional Police are moving quickly in the distribution. So that in the future there will be no more in an area where residents complain about not getting assistance," said Sigit.
Therefore, Sigit again reminded the public, do not hesitate or hesitate to communicate with the authorities to ask for social assistance again if it will run out or have been used up for the needs of daily life.
Later, it was confirmed by Sigit, that his staff would return to send the social assistance provided by the government and the police. He also said that residents can also convey if there are neighbors who have not received social assistance.
"Distribution of social assistance and medicines with proactive and reactive methods so that they can be right on target," said Sigit.
In this case, Sigit also invites all elements of society, ranging from students, activists, OKP and mass organizations, to join hands to help others and socialize health protocols and the national vaccination acceleration program.
Meanwhile, Sigit also instructed his staff to provide assistance regarding the budget allocated for handling the Covid-19 pandemic. Related to this, Sigit has also asked the Kapolda to coordinate with the Governor and the local Kajati. Then, the ranks of the Chief of Police to communicate with the Regent, Mayor and Kajari.
The coordination was carried out in relation to the still low achievement of regional expenditures related to the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic. Among them, various types of community assistance, basic food assistance and central cash assistance. Then, the construction of isolation houses by the local government as well as the procurement and distribution of medicines.
"The indicator of success is that all regional expenditures are carried out quickly and on target and are accountable," said Sigit.
The most important thing, said Sigit, is for people to stay at home, and if they are forced to go about their activities, always apply health protocols with discipline. The current policy, according to Sigit, is for the common good and aims to save the community and suppress the growth rate of Covid-19.
"We are doing all of this for the safety of the community. Of course we all hope that the growth rate of Covid-19 will quickly decline, so that people can return to their activities," concluded Sigit
