When giving a mandate during the 75th Commemoration of Bhayangkara Day on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at the State Palace, Jakarta, President Joko Widodo, reminded that the National Police must use their authority wisely and responsibly.
“The National Police must also race to master science and technology so that they do not lose to criminals. The use of Polri's authority must also be supported by the latest technological developments," he said.
In addition, Indonesia is a Pancasila country, a democratic country, and a country that upholds human rights so that the National Police are required not only to appear firm and indiscriminate, but also to appear as protectors and protectors of the community.
“Police must also have a friendly face and always serve the wider community. The National Police must be precise in carrying out their authority, must be accurate in making decisions, must refer to the laws and regulations, and must uphold the norms of community dignity," the President continued.
The Head of State also reminded that the development of Polri's human resources must be seriously and transparently considered, so that its character can adapt to Polri's duties and master the latest developments in science and technology.
"To meet these needs, the development of Polri's human resources must be taken seriously, recruitment, education and promotion must be carried out in a transparent and accountable manner," explained the President.
In addition, in order to face the challenges of the times and the demands of an increasingly complex society, the President also asked the National Police to improve and strengthen its management and institutions by utilizing science and technology to support a modern Police.
“The National Police must comprehensively fix planning policies, organizing policies, budgeting policies, as well as monitoring and evaluation. By utilizing the latest science and technology to support the modern Police," he said.
Present to accompany the President at the event were Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto.
