The Head of the Public Relations Division of the Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, explained that the monitoring of sales on the online site was to anticipate the occurrence of scarcity and price games for these types of drugs.
"The National Police are monitoring the activity of buying and selling antibiotics at online sellers," Argo said to the media crew, Jakarta, Monday (5/7/2021).
In addition to online, the National Police also conducts direct supervision of drug manufacturing factories and distribution channels. This is to prevent hoarding and the selling price offered from the highest retail has been set by the government.
"Today, monitoring is also underway at drug factories, including their distribution channels," said Argo.
In this case, Argo emphasized, the police will not hesitate or be reluctant to take firm action against distributors and other rogue sellers, if they hoard and raise prices that are not reasonable.
"Whoever I violate will be dealt with immediately," said Argo.
