The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, confirmed that the video stating that today's riot was a hoax or false information.
"It's a hoax video. The fact is that the demonstration was an old event during a demonstration against the omnibus law on copyright in Jakarta on October 8, 2020," Argo told reporters, Jakarta, Saturday (7/24/2021).
Argo appealed to the public not to easily believe false information made by irresponsible people.
"People should not easily be eaten by hoaxes. Filter before sharing," said Argo.
According to Argo, up to now, the security and public order situation (sitkamtibmas) has been running safely, peacefully and conducively. No demonstrations are taking place today.
"The situation is safe and conducive. There are no significant disturbances," concluded Argo.
