Police Distributed Social Assistance for Basic Food 723,773 Packages and 3,863 Tons of Rice Throughout Emergency PPKM to Levels

JAKARTA - The National Police Headquarters and the Regional Police are recorded to have distributed social assistance (bansos) in the form of 723,773 basic food packages and 3,863,300 Kilograms of rice or 3,863.3 tons. This number has been since the implementation of the Emergency PPKM policy to the leveled PPKM.

 The National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that the social assistance was distributed to people who were most affected by the economy due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

 "During the period from July 3 to July 23, 2021, the National Police has distributed social assistance to communities affected by Covid-19 in 34 Polda areas as many as 723,773 food packages and 3,863,300 kg (3,863.3 tons) of rice," said Sigit in his written statement. to the media crew, Jakarta, Saturday (24/7/2021).

 In the distribution, the former Banten Police Chief ensured that his staff had carried out mapping in their respective areas, so that the distribution of social assistance was ensured on target.

 Sigit said the police had been instructed to continue to move actively and pick up the ball in distributing social assistance from the Government, through the TNI, Polri and the Ministry of Social Affairs.

 One of the activities carried out, said Sigit, was the implementation of a large-scale patrol distributing social assistance to the community in all Polda ranks along with the TNI and other related parties, last night.

 Sigit emphasized that large-scale patrols for the distribution of social assistance were aimed at helping and easing the burden on the community in the midst of the current implementation of PPKM Level 4.

 "All Regional Police in the ranks, together with the TNI and other stakeholders, will continue to move to distribute social assistance to the community," said the former Police Criminal Investigation Officer.

 Sigit emphasized that the TNI-Polri and all other stakeholders will continue to work together and hand in hand, to suppress the growth rate of the corona virus in Indonesia. Among them are the acceleration of mass vaccination, strengthening of Micro PPKM, to the distribution of social assistance.

 Therefore, Sigit hopes that the community will continue to carry out health protocols (prokes) in a disciplined manner. Because that way, one of the efforts to suppress active cases of Covid-19, which has recently increased.

 "We are doing all of this for the safety of the community together. Of course we all hope that the rate of Covid-19 growth will decline quickly, so that people can return to their activities," concluded Sigit.
