The Deputy Chief of the East Java Regional Police together with Forkopimda elements visited the PPKM Polrestabes Surabaya control post, ensuring the readiness of officers and to find out the obstacles experienced by officers in the field.
This activity was carried out as a follow-up to the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number: 15 of 2021 regarding the implementation of Emergency PPKM in order to control the development rate of Covid 19, which recently experienced a very high upward trend, even East Java had the highest death rate due to Covid 19 in Indonesia. One way that is considered effective to prevent it is to limit community activities and mobility, while continuing to implement strict health protocols and intensify the implementation of the 3 T (testing, tracing, treatment) and the Vaccination Movement.
"To support the Emergency PPKM program, the East Java Police are currently conducting Safe Operations Nusa II which involves 20,000 personnel, by setting check points between provinces of 8 Check Point Posts, including 7 points at the border entrance with Central Java, 1 point on the Bali border, as well as between Rayon or Regency with a total of 86 Check Point Posts, plus 25 Toll Exit Posts," said Head of East Java Police Headquarters Kombes Pol Gatot Repli Handoko.
"With the implementation of the Emergency PPKM activity starting on July 3, 2021 until July 20, 2021 and has been strengthened by the Safe Operations Nusa II since July 3, 2021 until July 30, 2021, it is hoped that efforts to handle Covid 19 in Indonesia, especially the region East Java can run well or optimally," he concluded.
