"This is a form of Polri's concern for people in need during the Emergency PPKM period," said Probolinggo Police Chief, AKBP Teuku Arsya Gaddafi.
According to him, the target of the distribution of humanitarian aid is people who are in weak economic areas and densely populated.
One ton of rice was distributed to residents in 12 different village locations in 4 sub-districts namely Pajarakan, Krejengan, Kraksaan and Gending Districts.
In the 12 village locations, the police distributed 10 kilograms of rice and 20 masks each to each resident who received the social service.
The distribution of rice aid to underprivileged residents in an economically disadvantaged and densely populated environment is carried out with due observance of health protocols.
The distribution of one of the basic needs was positively welcomed by residents because it helped fulfill needs during Emergency PPKM.
The government implemented Emergency PPKM with a number of restrictions on the mobility of citizens to suppress the transmission of COVID-19.
Emergency PPKM is carried out based on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs number 15 of 2021 and then revised in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 18 of 2021 concerning Emergency PPKM on 3-20 July 2021.
