East Java Police Chief Conducts Vaccination Checks at Ubhara Surabaya

The East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta together with the Main Officer of the East Java Regional Police checked the vaccination attack at Bhayangkara University (Ubhara) Surabaya, Thursday (29/7/2021).

The vaccination activity that took place in Ubhara was carried out by vaccinators from the East Java Regional Police Biddokes doctor team, and was attended by 1000 students, but divided into 4 stages, each stage was attended by 250 students.

The East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta explained that in the vaccination campaign carried out with the provincial government and Kodam V/Brawijaya and Pangkormada II, vaccination activities were carried out simultaneously in several stages.

Community vaccination activities for students and teaching staff aim to support government programs, to establish herd immunity in the campus environment. This is expected to speed up the handling of COVID-19.

"Yesterday we carried out a mass vaccination activity at the State University of Malang. Then a few days ago in Surabaya we carried out vaccinations at SMPN 1, SMPN 6, SMAN 2, SMAN 5, and Trimurti. Then next week we will do the same thing at Universitas Merdeka Malang and Brawijaya University," he explained.

"While Pangkormada II also carries out the same vaccination activity, the participants are the surrounding community, both from students and from the community," he added.

The East Java Police Chief also explained that it is important for all of us to carry out vaccinations in the hope that we can create hard immunity in the fight against COVID-19.

"Even though we have been vaccinated, I ask that we all continue to carry out the Health Protocol (Prokes), because the implementation of Prokes is the main weapon in dealing with COVID, with 5M wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands, keeping crowds and avoiding activities that are not important," he said.

"I leave a message for the brothers and sisters that gaining knowledge is very important for all of us, so that with the vaccination, the teaching and learning situation will hopefully improve later, the face-to-face teaching and learning process can be carried out directly, but because the current situation is still like this, we follow the advice from the government. Now the procedure for school learning is still carried out online or online, "he said the East Java Police Chief, accompanied by the Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Kombes Pol. Gatot Repli Handoko.

The Kapolda also advised Ubhara students to inform their families who have not vaccinated, to immediately vaccinate, by registering with Babinsa, Babinkamtibmas or to the nearest TNI and Polri unit, because regularly we will carry out this program.

"Then for East Java itself we are one of the highest provinces in carrying out vaccinations, this is of course thanks to the support of all the people who understand very well the importance of vaccination, which is part of the strategy to deal with covid, then lastly let us all pray to God The Almighty has given us health and strength so that we can carry out our tasks better in the future," concluded Inspector General of Police Nico Afinta during an inspection in Ubhara.
