The Commitment of the Chief of Police to Ensure that Easter is Safe and to Guard National Vaccinations

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has visited a number of areas to ensure that community worship activities, from Good Friday to Easter celebrations, run safely and peacefully. At the same time, the number one person in the Bhayangkara Corps also escorts or monitors the national vaccination activities.

The series of activities began on Thursday (1/4) targeting several churches in Manado, North Sulawesi (Sulut). The former Kabareskrim wants to provide a sense of security for Christians so that they can carry out worship seriously after the Makassar bombing incident and the terror at the Police Headquarters.

"We TNI-Polri and community organizations are ready to carry out Mass security on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. It is hoped that all people can carry out worship activities in peace," said Sigit at the Manado Indonesia 'Sacred Heart of Maria' Cathedral, North Sulawesi, Thursday, April 1 2021.

Sigit and his entourage's visit to Manado was carried out a day after a woman's terror attack at the National Police Headquarters. Apart from visiting the church, the former Banten Police Chief also had the opportunity to attend the Muhamalmadiyah Youth Tanwir event in Manado.

After Manado, the former Kadiv Propam Polri and staff also visited the Provinces of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and DKI Jakarta. At the NTB Regional Police Headquarters, Sigit inaugurated a number of buildings including the Bhara Daksa Field. This facility is expected to sustain the performance of members in providing services to the community.

The Head of Police Blusukan continued to Kupang, NTT. In that place, he and his entourage visited a number of churches. After ensuring the situation was safe and under control, the former Surakarta Police Chief reviewed the implementation of the mass vaccine. Heavy rain that flushed the location did not dampen Sigit's enthusiasm to meet hundreds of people who wanted to be vaccinated.

Sigit also saw firsthand the conventional plasma blood donation process carried out by the NTT Police. "For now, the number of members of the NTT Regional Police who have received the vaccine is as much as 70 percent," said Sigit.

After three days of blusukan to a number from Thursday to Saturday, Sigit and his entourage flew to Jakarta. Saturday night (last night), the Chief of Police continued to move. Tirelessly, he returned to road shows to a number of churches in DKI Jakarta on Easter night.

"There are 7 locations monitored for activities in the DKI Jakarta area, all of which are given security by the TNI and Polri," said Sigit last night.

According to him, from a series of activities carried out starting from observing Holy Thursday in Manado to Good Friday in NTT and NTB including Jakarta, all worship activities run safely and without any terror disturbances. Likewise, the government's national vaccination program which aims to break the chain of the corona virus runs smoothly without any obstacles.

"All activities run well, safely and smoothly. There are no disturbances like what happened in Makassar and the National Police Headquarters. We hope this situation will continue to be controlled as well as the vaccination program," concluded the four-star general.
