National Police Affirms that FA Terrorists Are Not Muhammadiyah Managers

JAKARTA- Police Headquarters emphasized that the FA suspected terrorists who were arrested by the Anti-Terror Special Detachment 88 Team at Soekarno Hatta Airport were not members of PP Muhammadiyah. On the other hand, the FA is a member of the Yogyakarta Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) organization.

 "We want to straighten out the news that the suspected FA terrorists are PP Muhammadiyah officials. It is true that JI's strategy is to collide between the government and existing religious organizations to cause a conflict," said Head of Public Relations of the National Police, Inspector General of Police Argo Yuwono in his statement on Saturday (10/4). / 2021).


 According to Argo, as a result of the investigation, the FA was a member of the JI terrorist group which played a vital role. He is known to be the one who did the doctrine of the members of his group. "The person concerned recruited several people to join the JI organization and carried out I'dad or military training and climbed Mount Lawu which was one of the preparatory stages for the group's terrorist activities," explained Argo.

 As noted, the FA traveled to Turkey to build communications and networks against Al Qaeda figures and is closely related to their organization's strategy of supporting the global terrorism movement.


 Previously, the Densus 88 team arrested the FA at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten on Thursday (8/4/2021) with his wife DM after returning from Turkey.
