In this activity, the Chief of Police and the Army Chief of Staff also discussed the rampant drug crime that is smuggled by sea or water. Currently, there are various ways of perpetrators of this crime to deceive officers, for example storing illegal goods wrapped in tea packages.
The former Kabareskrim Polri emphasized that in handling criminal cases in the waters it is necessary to strengthen synergy at the lower to the top levels. Given that currently many water routes are used by criminals.
Therefore, Sigit said, there was a need to discuss the matter of conducting joint training between Police and Navy personnel in securing Indonesian waters.
"How can there be a joint training activity where there is integration at the executive level. At least there has been a joint training," said the former Banten Police Chief.
The Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral TNI Yudo Margono views the need to increase synergy between the TNI and Polri in fighting crime.
"The naval synergy cooperates with the police, especially the police. The authority that is not a navy is handed over to the police. Things like this are developed and improved in synergy," said Yudo.
With the emergence of the phenomenon of crime in these waters, Yudo also agreed that there is a need for integrity from the ranks of the TNI and Polri in carrying out their duties.
