IJTI Holds UKW, Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police: The Role of Media is Very Important and Helps the Police Duties

SURABAYA, the Indonesian Television Journalists Association (IJTI) is holding a Journalist Competency Test (UKW) in 2021 in the city of Surabaya.

 This UKW was joined by media workers, especially television journalists who work in the East Java region.

 Journalist competency test was attended by prof. M. Nuh and the Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Gatot Repli Handoko.

 Before it was implemented, Prof., M. Nuh gave a speech and direction on the importance of the role of the mass media during the current Covid-19 Pandemic in educating the nation.

 "The role of mass media is very important to educate the nation. Moreover, currently it is still in the mass of the Covid-19 Pandemic," explained Prof. M, Nuh, as the Head of the Press Council, was on the sidelines giving a briefing in front of the UKW participants, Monday (8/3/2021) afternoon.

 Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Gatot Repli Handoko, said in his speech that the National Police was ready to support the journalistic competency program.

 "We are very supportive of this competency test activity and hopefully it will run smoothly, and all participants pass with satisfactory scores," said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Gatot Repli Handoko.

 Kombes Gatot added that the role of the media is very helpful for the task of the National Police in conducting socialization efforts to the public, especially when it is still Covid-19.

 In addition, said Kombes Gatot, the media must also provide correct news or information to the public and not fake news (hoax).
