This firm effort is in line with instructions from Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who focus on suppressing criminal practices of the land mafia in Indonesia.
"Because the land mafia issue is the President's special concern, and I was ordered by the President to thoroughly investigate the land mafia problem," said Sigit in a written statement, Jakarta, Wednesday (17/2/2021).
Therefore, Sigit instructed all his staff to work optimally in carrying out legal proceedings related to the land mafia crime.
As law enforcement officers, Sigit said, the police must carry out their duties to defend the rights that are owned by the community.
"I instruct all members in all ranks not to hesitate and thoroughly investigate the land mafia issue, restore community rights, defend people's rights and uphold the law firmly," said the former Banten Police Chief.
On the other hand, Sigit also emphasized that his staff should take action against anyone who supports or intellectual actors behind the land mafia syndicate.
"Because the land mafia issue is the President's concern, I ask the ranks not to hesitate the process is complete, whoever is 'backing it'," said Sigit.
Sigit explained that eradicating the land mafia is part of the Precision program or predictive policing, responsibility and fair transparency.
"As with the Presisi program, the law enforcement process must be thoroughly investigated indiscriminately," said Sigit.
Regarding the land mafia case, in 2020, Bareskrim Polri, through the Land Mafia Task Force, was recorded to have investigated 37 cases. Meanwhile eight are in the process of being investigated.
From the investigation, 12 of them had already carried out the second phase of delegation, six cases were declared complete or P21 and 4 of them were P19 processes and three SP3 cases.
Then, Polda Metro Jaya arrested 1 land mafia syndicate. The gang worked by falsifying land titles and making illegal e-KTPs. For his crime, the victim suffered hundreds of billions of losses.
Currently, the police are also investigating the case of a land mafia syndicate that is suspected of committing fraud of the mother's certificate from former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dino Patti Djalal.
In its development, the Police have so far named 12 people as suspects in connection with the case. Polda Metro Jaya has received three reports in this case.
The first report was made in April 2020 regarding his house in Pondok Indah, the second report in November 2020 regarding his house in Kemang, and the third in January 2021, which is still under investigation.
