The Chairperson of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Appreciates and Supports East Java Regional Police Chief of Combating Land Mafia

JAKARTA - The Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly, Bambang Soesatyo, appreciated and supported the East Java Regional Police's quick move to form a land Mafia Task Force under the leadership of Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta in helping residents deal with land mafias.

 One of them is by opening a hotline through the telephone number 0813-3623-1994 which is directly connected to the Directorate of General Crimes (Ditreskrimum) Polda East Java.

 In this way, people who are facing land problems can immediately complain over the phone.

 "The Regional Police Chief ensures that every complaint will be immediately followed up by the East Java Regional Police of the Criminal Procedure Code, so that people do not have to bother fighting for their rights and justice," said Bamsoet in Jakarta, Friday (26/2/21).

 The chairman of the 20th DPR RI and the former Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI for Law & Security, emphasized that the move by the East Java Regional Police was in line with President Jokowi's order to the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

 "The National Police Chief has also paid special attention to eradicating the land mafia," said Bambang Soesatyo.

 One of them, continued the chairman of the MPR RI, was by forming an Anti-Land Mafia Task Force, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR) / the National Land Agency (BPN).

 "Anyone can become a victim of the land mafia, even the former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dino Patti Djalal, was a victim some time ago," said Bambang Soesatyo.

 The chairman of the MPR RI also advised the public to be vigilant, the police must also take firm action against the perpetrators of these land mafia crimes, thus providing a deterrent effect.

 As is well known, the National Police Chief has emphasized that the Police must defend the rights of the people, restore people's rights and enforce the law firmly.

 The National Police Chief has also instructed Kapolda throughout Indonesia to form a task force to eradicate the land mafia and to take firm action against the land mafia.

 The National Police Chief also emphasized that investigators should not hesitate in thoroughly investigating the land mafia issue, whoever the mastermind and its backing.

 The head of the FKPPI State Defense Agency and the Deputy Chairperson of Pemuda Pancasila explained, based on reports from the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs / National Land Agency (BPN), since 2015-2019, there have been 9 thousand reports they have received related to land issues. As many as 50 percent of them are related to the land mafia.

 "Land is a valuable asset owned by the community, which must be protected by the state through the National Land Agency and the police. Don't let the land mafia rob the people of their rights," concluded Bamsoet.
